Every button, menu, and input mapped for PC and mobile.

Understanding the Build A Blue Lock Squad controls and user interface saves time on every session — whether you are redeeming codes, managing your squad, or navigating the lobby to find Sendou for free rerolls. This guide maps every major UI element and input method for both PC and mobile platforms.

The LockerRoom designed the UI to be accessible across devices, but several key functions — especially code redemption and squad management — are tucked into menus that new players easily miss.

Platform Support

Build A Blue Lock Squad runs on:

  • PC — Keyboard and mouse via Roblox desktop client or browser
  • Mobile — Touch controls on iOS and Android Roblox app
  • Tablet — Touch controls with larger screen layout
  • Console — Xbox controller support through Roblox console app

Most players use PC or mobile. Control mappings differ between platforms but UI layout remains consistent.

Main Lobby UI Layout

When you launch the game, you arrive in the main lobby. Key UI elements:

Settings icon (bottom-left) — Opens the settings panel including code redemption, audio, and graphics options. This is where you enter promo codes from Working Codes. See How to Redeem Codes for step-by-step instructions.

Squad menu — Access your current lineup, view character stats, OVR, and manage positions. Essential for evaluating reroll targets against the Tier List.

Gacha/Reroll interface — Where reroll and refresh actions happen. Displays current roll pool, character stats, and accept/reroll buttons.

Quest panel — Shows daily quest objectives and rewards. Complete these for free rerolls — see Daily Quests.

NPC area — Sendou and other NPCs are located in the lobby environment. Walk up and interact for free reroll rewards. Details in Free Rerolls.

PC Controls

Movement: WASD keys to walk around the lobby and match environments.

Interaction: Click on NPCs, buttons, and UI elements with the left mouse button.

Camera: Right-click and drag to rotate camera view in the lobby.

Menu navigation: Click UI buttons and tabs. Scroll with mouse wheel where applicable.

Code entry: Click Settings (bottom-left) → find code field → type code → confirm.

Squad management: Click squad icon → select character slots → view stats and OVR.

Mobile Controls

Movement: Virtual joystick (typically bottom-left area, separate from Settings icon).

Interaction: Tap on NPCs, buttons, and interactive elements.

Camera: Swipe to rotate camera view.

Menu navigation: Tap UI buttons and tabs.

Code entry: Tap Settings (bottom-left) → find code field → tap to open keyboard → enter code → confirm.

Squad management: Tap squad icon → tap character slots → view stats.

Note: On mobile, the Settings icon and movement joystick are both in the bottom-left area. The Settings gear icon is distinct from the movement joystick — tap the gear specifically for settings and code redemption.

Settings Menu Breakdown

The Settings panel (bottom-left icon) contains:

Code Redemption — Text field for entering promo codes. Requires The LockerRoom group membership.

Audio Settings — Music volume, sound effects volume. Adjust for comfortable play sessions.

Graphics Settings — Quality options that may affect performance on lower-end devices.

Controls/Input — Platform-specific control customization where available.

Reroll Interface Controls

The gacha reroll screen is the most-used interface in the game:

Reroll button — Spends one reroll token to replace your lowest-OVR squad member with a new pull.

Refresh button — Spends one refresh token to reset the current roll pool options.

Accept/Confirm button — Adds the displayed character to your squad.

Character stat view — Tap or click a character to see detailed stats, rarity, and OVR before accepting.

Understanding reroll vs refresh is critical — full strategy in Reroll Strategy.

Match Controls

During matches, controls extend beyond lobby navigation:

Pass/Action buttons — Platform-specific buttons for passing, shooting, and special actions.

Movement — Same as lobby controls (WASD on PC, joystick on mobile).

Sprint/Speed boost — Available on certain characters with high speed stats.

Match controls are less critical for squad building progression but matter for completing match-type Daily Quests.

UI Tips for Efficient Play

Check OVR before every reroll — Open squad menu, identify lowest-OVR member, then reroll. Compare results against Best Characters.

Bookmark the Settings location — Bottom-left gear icon. You will use it for every code redemption.

Find Sendou immediately on login — Walk to Sendou NPC first for free reroll pickup before doing anything else.

Quest panel check — Open daily quests before starting reroll sessions to align quest progress with reroll spending.

Accessibility Notes

Build A Blue Lock Squad’s UI uses standard Roblox interface conventions. Text size follows Roblox platform settings. Color-coded rarity borders (Common through Elusive) help identify pull quality at a glance — see Rarity Tiers for the color system.

Controls After Updates

UI layouts can shift after major patches. The ELUSIVES Update did not change core controls, but future updates might relocate menu items. Check Patch History and Updates Hub for UI change notes.

Community control discussions happen on Discord & Community Links. There is no official Trello with control documentation.
