Elusive characters represent the pinnacle of Build A Blue Lock Squad — the rarest pulls, the highest OVR ceilings, and the characters that define the competitive meta. The ELUSIVES Update introduced enhanced NEL variants and elevated the rarity tier to new heights. This page covers every Elusive character, their stats, pull rates, and why you should never reroll them away.

Elusive tier sits above Legendary in the Rarity Tiers hierarchy with approximately 1% pull rate and OVR ranges of 90-99. Pulling an Elusive is the gacha equivalent of hitting the jackpot — expect roughly one Elusive per 100 rerolls on average.

The ELUSIVES update is the latest major content patch for Build A Blue Lock Squad by The LockerRoom. It introduced:

Elusive Character Profiles

NEL Isagi

Position: Striker | OVR: 95-99 | Tier: S

The crown jewel of the Elusive roster. NEL Isagi combines elite positioning — the highest in the game — with top-tier finishing stats. He consistently finds scoring angles that no other character can access. NEL Isagi is the single most valuable pull in Build A Blue Lock Squad and the primary reroll target for end-game players.

Key stats: Positioning (99), Shooting (95+), Dribbling (90+)

NEL Rin

Position: Striker | OVR: 94-98 | Tier: S

Raw offensive destruction. NEL Rin possesses the highest shooting stats among all characters, converting chances at a rate that wins matches independently. His aggressive playstyle dominates one-on-one situations and makes him the ideal second striker alongside a creative partner like NEL Nagi.

Key stats: Shooting (98+), Physical (92+), Speed (88+)

NEL Nagi

Position: Striker/Midfielder | OVR: 93-97 | Tier: S

The creative genius of the Elusive roster. NEL Nagi’s dribbling and agility stats enable chance creation through individual skill that bypasses entire defensive lines. Less of a pure finisher than NEL Rin but more versatile — NEL Nagi elevates every squad composition he joins.

Key stats: Dribbling (97+), Agility (96+), Speed (90+)

Elusive Pull Rates and Expectations

At approximately 1% pull rate, Elusive characters are genuinely rare. Statistical expectations:

• Average rerolls to first Elusive: ~100
• Probability of zero Elusives in 100 rerolls: ~37%
• Probability of 2+ Elusives in 100 rerolls: ~18%

Variance is extreme. Some players pull NEL Isagi on their tenth reroll; others go 200+ without seeing an Elusive. This is normal gacha behavior — do not get discouraged.

Maximize your attempts by stacking every reroll source: Working Codes, Free Rerolls, and Daily Quests. Free-to-play players earn 25-35 rerolls per week — enough for roughly one Elusive attempt every 3 weeks statistically.

What to Do When You Pull an Elusive

Accept immediately. Never reroll an Elusive character. Never refresh away an Elusive in your pool. The expected value of an Elusive pull exceeds dozens of normal rerolls.

After accepting:

1. Check which squad member the Elusive replaces (lowest OVR)
2. Verify your squad OVR increase
3. Compare against Best Characters for squad positioning
4. Adjust lineup to maximize the Elusive character’s stat strengths

Legendaries are excellent — Elusives are exceptional. Both have places in elite squads, but Elusives should never be traded or rerolled away for Legendary upgrades.

Building an Elusive-Core Squad

The dream squad features 2-3 Elusive characters anchoring the lineup:

Ideal composition: NEL Isagi (ST) + NEL Rin (ST) + NEL Nagi (CAM) + Sae (CM) + Lavinho (LW) + top GK

This squad averages 92+ OVR and competes at the highest leaderboard levels. Reaching this composition requires patience and consistent reroll income over 4-8 weeks of free-to-play progression.

Elusive Characters and the Meta

The ELUSIVES update shifted the competitive meta decisively. Squads without at least one Elusive character struggle against Elusive-core teams in match outcomes. NEL Isagi’s positioning stat alone creates scoring opportunities that 82-OVR Legendary squads cannot match.

Future Elusive Additions

The ELUSIVES update established the Elusive tier but may not be the last Elusive content drop. Future updates could introduce Elusive variants of Kaiser, Barou, Bachira, and other fan favorites. Track additions through the Updates Hub.

Chasing Elusives Efficiently

Follow this reroll discipline when hunting Elusives:

1. Never waste rerolls on positions already filled with S-tier characters
2. Stack rerolls from all free sources before spending in bulk sessions
3. Use Reroll Strategy — refresh only when pools lack any viable options
4. Accept every Legendary along the way — they are stepping stones, not failures
5. Track your reroll count to manage expectations (~100 per Elusive attempt)
